“Mission Norman” Partnership Opportunities
“Mission Norman” is a ministry in Norman, supported by several churches in Central Oklahoma, that works in benevolent and evangelistic ministries. I’ve been in touch with one of their directors after Bro. Dave Vallerand from Pleasant Hill met him in Purcell. They look like a biblically-sound group, and I am supposed to meet with this director in early April about the possibility of partnering together. We’ve already been invited to participate in an outreach event on April 30. We’re hoping that we’ll be able to help them in their ministry to the city’s needy and that they’ll help us to make contact with those in need of the Gospel and spiritual growth. Pray for God’s leadership as we meet about working together for His cause.

New Generation Music Fellowship
The New Generation Music Fellowship kicked off on March 24th, and reportedly there were 20 in attendance. The NGMF is intended to be a monthly, family-friendly music venue, allowing for performances, lessons, and groups that just enjoy getting together to play their instruments. The intent is also that attendees will hear the Gospel clearly presented during a time of devotionals or testimonies. Most of the people in attendance were already connected with Pleasant Hill or NGBC, but we are hoping in the future that more people from the community would come, as there has already been a lot of interest in the community about events such as these. We’ve discussed the possibility of a different location for next month and additional advertising to get the word out. Steve is doing a fantastic job in heading up this effort. Please join us in praying that we would be successful in our attempts to meet and share the Gospel with the people of Norman.

A New Addition
I was not actually at the music fellowship last week; I was busy with the newest addition to our group in Norman. Kristian gave birth to our son, Benjamin Kaspar Byrns, on Wednesday, March 23 at 9:15 pm. He weighed 6 lbs., 1 oz. and was 17 3/4″ long. Since he was born at 36 weeks, he was sent to the Neonatal ICU at the Norman hospital for a week. But he had no major complications, and he was able to finally leave the hospital (without any monitors!) this afternoon. Pray for Benjamin and his mommy.

Visiting Your Church
We would love to come talk to your church about the Great Commission in general and the work in Norman in particular. Large church, small church, it doesn’t matter. If you’ll invite us, we’ll come. Contact Jared, and we’ll schedule a time for someone on our team to come.

Subscriptions
If you know of people in your churches who would be interested in what we’re doing and would be willing to pray for us, please pass these newsletters along to them, and encourage them to sign up for these updates by e-mailing us.

Prayer Requests
Pray for: God’s direction and provision of opportunities for ministry; the harvest in Norman; the families on the mission team; our small group participants; more small groups to start; opportunities to present the work and encourage our sister churches
